History of Clearfork Baptist Church
(The Work Behind Us)
The Hawley Baptist Church (temporary name) met for their first business meeting on Sunday evening, April 1, 2001. The meeting was held at the Sunshine Patch Daycare Center. A motion was made to open into business session, and the motion carried. Thus, on the very first Sunday of this new congregation, the work began!
On that Sunday there was an attendance of 84, and an offering of $3,424.95. The people came, and the people gave; they offered their time, talents, and their treasure to be a part of what God was doing in their community.
At 11:00 am on June 6, 2004, an auditorium full of believers met and dedicated a completed building to the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. God had provided the vision, the funds, and the manpower, and He built a home for Clearfork Baptist Church.
The focus shifted from building a building to building a church, ministry was expanded, and people became more involved in the reaching, teaching, and ministering efforts of our Lord’s work. Lives and families have been impacted and our Lord has added to the church. Together we watch in amazement, seeing God’s purpose being accomplished through His people, by His power and provision.
