Who We Are

Clearfork Baptist Church was established on March 26, 2001.

Feeling led by God, five deacons and their families left a church. Meeting on a
Monday evening unsure of what to do, these five deacons decide to call a
preacher to come speak to them and their families until they could figure out
what God had in store for them. Calling on Brother Larry Tarver to come preach, the
deacons were offered a small daycare in Hawley to meet at on Sunday April 1.
Word spread and 87 people showed up for that first Sunday meeting. It was then
that they realized that a new church was needed.

From that point to today Clearfork Baptist Church has sought the perfect will of
God. We here at Clearfork Baptist will work to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ
as we are commanded in the Bible. We shall do our best to reach out for Christ
in the city of Hawley, Jones County, Texas, the United States, and the World.

As well as reaching out, we seek to grow in the Lord. In working with the
Baptist General Convention of Texas we have entered our new building.
Things may be tough as we progress as a new church but God will be with us and
it sure is gonna be fun.
