Good news from our pastor

From Ezra Chapters 1&2:

“Then (they) arose, even everyone whose spirit God had stirred to go up and rebuild the house of the Lord…according to their ability they gave…the people gathered together as one man…”
What an exciting time for Clearfork Baptist Church!  God has stirred our spirits. We have united as one and have risen to the task.  We are committed to “Expanding the Reach” of the ministry of our Lord.
On October 12, Celebration Sunday, we had a great day of Ingathering of the First Fruits of the “Expanding the Reach” (ETR) offering.  The total offering that day was $8,102.54.  Of that, $1,210.99 was in coins (the bank had mixed feelings about our visit)!  Keep filling up your cans with spare change.  We will continue having an ingathering offering every quarter.
As of October 19, you have given a total of $29,211.73; we are halfway to a concrete foundation!
Blue ETR Envelopes:  Be sure to use the new blue envelopes for your ETR offering.  Our counting committee will have no trouble identifying this designated offering in the blue envelopes.  Soon, each family will be receiving some of the blue ETR envelopes in the mail.

CBC has received pledge commitments of $325,550.32.  It will take all of us remaining faithful to our committed pledges, and to our regular offerings, for the church ministry to continue and expand.

In 1 Chronicles 29, after a great offering had been taken for the building of the “house of the Lord,” David offered a prayer of thanksgiving.  I can truly identify with David’s prayer: “so now with joy I have seen Thy people…make their offerings willingly to Thee.”(Vs. 17)

May God bless you in your commitment to Him; together we will see His hand of provision and guidance, for our families and our church ministry.  It is going to be exciting to watch and wonderful to be a part of!

See you this Sunday, in His house,

 Brother Larry

Notes From The Associate Pastor

I wanted to begin by thanking you for your prayers while Christi has been on bed rest.  We still have a few weeks to go, but the doctor has been encouraged by what he has seen.  We had a great check-up this last week, and the baby is doing great.  I would ask that you keep us in your prayers for the duration of this pregnancy.

Be sure to mark your calendars for December 7th.  That Sunday night we will have our annual Music Christmas program.  I have appreciated the hard work of everyone involved.  Please come out that night and support them in this effort.

Thanks for all you do.  May we continue to spur one another on as we work together to further God’s work here at Clearfork.

I hope you have a good week and will see you again soon at CBC.

 In Christ,

 Jamie Burkhart

Youth News

The youth have been busy as of late. Last Wednesday night, (Oct. 22), we went to an event called REVAMP at Hardin-Simmons.  We listened to a band as well as a speaker. All of the youth had a great time and really enjoyed doing it. A special thanks to Lauren Fine and Amy Strawn who helped drive the youth.

Starting Wednesday, October 29th, we will be going through the Gospel of Matthew. Many of the youth have expressed interest in specific Bible Studies, so we will be starting youth discipleship Bible Studies (one for girls and one for guys) on Sunday evenings, most likely before the regularly scheduled evening service. Those topics will be decided on soon and the classes will hopefully start up in the next few weeks.

That is all for now. I realize that I am new here so if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please feel free to contact me either by phone: 512-748-0892; or by email: zlrebel75@yahoo.com.
